"Building Vermont's Talent Pipeline" @ November 15 Dinner EventJoin us for our next PMICV Dinner event Wednesday November 15. Our guest speakers will be Mary Anne Sheahan, Executive Director of Leadership Champlain of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Joan Goldstein, Vermont Commissioner of Economic Development. The Vermont Talent Pipeline Project is an employer-led model to close the skills gap in our state. Using the US Chamber of Commerce national strategy of Talent Pipeline Management, Vermont partners are working together to fill jobs with skilled employees. This presentation demonstrates the effectiveness of a collaborative, demand-driven approach and includes data from the Vermont Futures project the projected shortage of workers in our state. The Vermont Talent Pipeline is a statewide initiative that is broadly messaged and accepted by inclusive and diverse stakeholders groups including industry employers, training providers, and potential employees. The project has state support from the Governor, and Departments of Economic Development, Labor and the Agency of Education. Regional and statewide partners have helped promote the movement of this demand-driven strategy, where Vermont leads the nation with statewide industry collaboration. With two pilot programs underway in the Construction and Healthcare sectors, Advanced Manufacturing is slated for 2Q 2018.
