"BA and PM Partnership - Keys to Successful Collaboration" 

BAs and PMs share a number of skills, which can make for productive cooperation or counterproductive conflict, especially when job responsibilities seem to overlap. This informal presentation by a PMI member who wears both hats will explore where and why conflicts can occur, the unique perspectives each side brings to the table, and how to use their respective strengths to best advantage for the good of the team. 

 

About Jim Whitney:

Jim’s 25+ years of management experience includes positions at medium- through Fortune 500-sized companies in process and discrete manufacturing, as well as time working with professional services firms.  He is a member of PMI, and a senior consultant with Desai Management Consulting, currently splitting his time between project management and business analysis. In addition to his PMP, Jim is a Certified Quality Auditor with ASQ, providing pre-certification training for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001, as well as internal audits services to clients throughout New England.

 

Prior to joining Desai, he taught management courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels while serving as director of the Business and Management program at Champlain College.
